A graveside inurnment service with full military rites for Gerald D. Timmerman will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk, the Rev. Richard Olson officiating. Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Timmerman, 56, of Blythe, Calif., and a former Minonk resident, died Jan. 13, 2004, at his California residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Minonk or to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Timmerman was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Streator, a son of Junior H. and Eleanor Richards Timmerman.

Survivors include a brother, Harlan (Jan) Timmerman, Minonk; and one niece, Carrie (Todd) Huenecke, Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gerald was a 1965 graduate of MDR High School. He served with the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a computer technician, having worked for TRW in Los Angeles, where he made satellites for the NASA program.

Gerald was an avid biker and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
